3 Whole Months... WoW
Can you believe that Twist Cupcakery has officially been open for 3 months? It feels like just yesterday we opened the doors to an excited group of cupcake lovers and daily we are meeting new people who are enjoying the Twist experience. I always say that eating desserts, our cupcakes especially, is an experience! Opening the Cupcakery has been one of the most interesting things that I have ever done and I am so excited to see how the business will continues to grow into the future! I hope you enjoy this installment as I am trying something new with creating special sections. If you want to see me write about something in particular just drop me a message and I will try to work it in for everyone to enjoy!
What’s New?
So many new things are popping up at Twist! Did you know that we serve lunch at Twist? We serve delicious Boar’s Head brand deli meat sandwiches, my own pretty much famous BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches as well as Chef salads! You should definitely stop in and have lunch with us one day and wash it down with an ice cold glass of lemonade from Sydney and London’s lemonade stand!
I have also been experimenting with fun new cupcake flavors like Fruity Pebbles, Beer n’ Bacon (featuring Warped Wing IPA), Mango Margarita, Andes, Drumstick and so on. You know I am always looking for your input to try out new flavors (that is the fun of being the baker!!!)
Pop Up Boutique with LuLaRoe was a big hit to celebrate September First Friday and we cannot wait to do this and other events! Thinking up the next fun event but we won’t have to wait until First Friday to party!
My Favorite Cake!
This is always so hard to pick… I love new design challenges! From my recent cakes I just can’t pick one so I pick this birthday cake made for baby Ava! She had a special carnival themed wonderland to celebrate her birthday and this cake went along to compliment the special day!
My second pick is actually a cupcake cake so that’s different… right? This cake was designed for a traveler who has moved around a bit but obviously made a nice home and friends in Dayton and now they are sending him off to Arizona for the next phase in his life! I was instructed to make a cupcake cake in the shape of the United States and Grenada and each special places that he has resided!
Twist Cupcakery is more than just delicious cupcakes, we create cakes of all types so always remember us when you are in the need for custom cakes!
Baking Advice
When I think about all I have learned regarding baking a piece of advice I can give an up and coming baker is to rotate the pans during baking… I know this sounds taboo because we have all been told to not open the oven door during baking or the cake will fall but once your cake/cupcakes have set, about 2/3 through the baking cycle, then you should rotate which helps to ensure even baking!
